History of the dream nations cup

The Annual Dream Nations Cup, presented by CCM, started as an invitational international ice hockey tournament to celebrate and emphasize the emergence of the sport in non-traditional hockey markets.

The inaugural edition included a Men’s division of six teams and a Women’s division with four teams. 

This First Annual event wrote history by featuring several exciting ‘firsts’. For the First time ever…

• The Indigenous / First Nations have been represented in international sport competition (3rd place men’s finish).
• Egypt’s Women’s program competed internationally for the first time. (3^rd place finish)
• Algeria won 1^st place for the first time in their ice hockey program history.

History will soon repeat itself, as the 2025 Edition of the Dream Nations Cup will be the global stage for more unique and exciting ‘firsts’ for our partner Nations.
